The tide at Bar Harbor
Bar Harbor has some of the largest tides in the lower forty-eight. Twice a day the water walks out far enough to expose the sandbar to Bar Island, and walks back in again over anyone who lost track of it.

What the water does here
Bar Harbor runs two highs and two lows a day, near enough evenly spaced. Between low and high the water moves about 10.6 feet, averaged across a week of predictions.
A Wavepane on the wall shows that as a picture rather than a table: the water sits where the water sits, and the wave on top grows or flattens with the swell outside. It wakes every half hour, redraws, and goes back to sleep. Nothing to open, nothing to check.
